If your answer is YES, then you have to know about a skin infection called Boils.

A Boil which is also known as furuncle is a localized skin infection of the hair follicle or oil glands. It is an infection that is caused by bacteria. The skin turns red all over the infected region and slowly you can start noticing the formation of a lump. This lump or swelling is pus filled and can be very painful, itchy. The Boil can be of the size of a pee to that of a golf ball as well.

Boils can come to anyone while some say teenagers and young adults are more prone to get it. It can also come due to lack in nutrition, poor immune system, poor hygiene, diabetes, use of harmful chemicals on skin, blood disorders, obesity, anaemia, etc. When the Boil is about to throw out pus, you can find yellow or white point at the center of the lump. At the time of discharge, you can experience unpleasant smell from pus. If there is severe infection, some people tend to get fever, weakness and swollen lymph nodes.

Skin infections generally keep coming and it also has chances of spreading to other family members. The areas where you can usually find Boils are face, neck, thighs, back, stomach, and arms. The toxic contents in blood can also be a reason for getting Boils. Unhealthy eating habits, improper bowel movement and drinking too much alcohol are reasons why blood gets contaminated with toxins.

You can try some of the natural home remedies mentioned below for treating Boils;

  • Keep hot packs or try dipping the area of infection in hot water. Heat increases blood circulation and helps in fighting against infection.
  • Maintain a proper hygiene by taking bath regularly and with a good anti bacterial soap or body wash.
  • Maintain a proper diet which contains lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Take orange juice 4 times a day for a week. Then start with green leafy vegetables, cereals, grams, fresh fruit juices, etc.
  • Take garlic or onion or bitter gourd and extract its juice. Apply this juice on the affected area.
  • Take some parsley leaves and boil them in water till they become soft. Take a clean cloth and wrap the leaves in it. Keep this cloth on Boils.
  • Take 3-4 betel leaves and boil them in water till they become soft. Add 2 drops of castor oil and keep the leaves on the Boil.
  • Prepare a poultice with 1 teaspoon fresh milk cream, 1 teaspoon vinegar and little turmeric powder. Turmeric has antiseptic property which helps in healing, milk and vinegar allows the Boil to dry without letting the infection to worsen.
  • Take some cumin seeds and pound them with some water. Apply this paste on the infected area.
  • Take some fresh ginger and pound them nicely to form a paste. Mix a little asefoetida to it and apply on the infected area.
  • Either apply a paste of turmeric powder and the juice on Holy basil on the infected area or you can also try to eat or drink it as it has high anti bacterial property.
  • Applying tea tree oil is beneficial.
  • Fill a bath tub with warm water and add some Epsom salt to it. Soak in it for a while for getting relief from pain and also to help in drying out the Boil.
  • Aromatherapy with essential oils like lavender is very good in treating Boils.
  • Apply Charmardadi thailam on Boils to get effective result.
  • Apply aloe vera on Boil to get relief.
  • Taking Kanchanara guggulu pills twice a day is very effective.
  • Eat 1 tablespoon Triphala churna every night before going to bed.
  • Take a piece of bread and dip it in boiling water. Once it cools to room temperature, place it on the Boil.
  • Try to drink 1 glass bitter gourd juice with 1 table spoon lemon juice every morning empty stomach.
  • Take some castor bark and pound it well with some water to form a paste. Apply this paste on the Boil.
  • Take some neem leaves and boil it in 1/2 cup water. Boil till all water is evaporated. Take the leaves and pound them well to form a paste. Apply this paste on Boil. Neem is known for its anti bacterial property and hence helps in speedy recovery.

Always keep yourself neat and clean. Try to maintain a good personal hygiene to prevent infections on skin. Wash your hands properly to prevent bacteria from developing on skin. Use a good anti bacterial soap or body wash for bathing. Following the above mentioned guidelines and simple home remedies you can try to prevent and treat skin infections like Boils.

Beneficial Home Remedies for Sleeplessness or Insomnia

“Sleep is the best meditation”, this quote just explains the importance of sleep for our body. Our body needs rest and the best way to rest the whole body is to have a long sound sleep.

What do you think about your sleep pattern? Do you sleep as soon as you lie on bed or do you keep waiting to fall asleep whole night? How sound or deep is your sleep? Do you end up waking up middle of the night? Do you feel tired or irritated the next morning?

If your answer is YES, then you have a sleep disorder which is called Sleeplessness.

Sleeplessness or generally known as Insomnia is a state when a person is incapable to fall asleep or wakes up middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep. This happens because when you wake up fully middle of the night and don’t know what to do, you end up nervous. The nervousness causes adrenaline to fill in the system making your body active.

Every individual requires a minimum of 7-9 hours sleep at night. However, when you have Insomnia you end up sleeping very less. There is one part of people with Insomnia who have only 1 or 2 bad days of sleep whereas the other part of people has many nights without sleep. They also end up being exhausted during day time.

Insomnia can cause serious issues in health like depression, heart diseases, lack of concentration leading to accidents on road or office or home, irritability, memory problems, etc.

Insomnia is categorized into three types;

  • Transient Insomnia – It is the inability to sleep well for less than a week. It is a disorder that can be caused either due to changes in sleep environment, sleep timings, stress or severe depression.
  • Acute Insomnia – It is the inability to sleep well for a period less than a month. It is a disorder which causes difficulty in falling asleep or having a sound sleep. The poor quality of sleep results in problems with daytime activities. Acute Insomnia is also referred to as short term insomnia or stress related insomnia.
  • Chronic Insomnia – It is the inability to sleep well for a period more than a month. It is caused due to high level of stress hormones in body or variation in the levels of cytokines. Chronic Insomnia results in muscular fatigue, hallucination or mental fatigue.

There are various reasons why a person gets Insomnia. Some common causes include stress, tension, nervousness, too much work, anger, smoking, too much eating, empty stomach, late dinner, having coffee or tea before sleeping, watching TV or working on computer, etc.

Ayurveda is very particular about sleep pattern. It is always recommended to sleep before 10 pm for getting the most restful sleep. There are also some simple and natural ayurvedic healing remedies for Insomnia.

Simple home remedies for Insomnia;

  • Try to rub some oil like sesame oil, brahmi oil, jasmine oil, or coconut oil on the scalp and soles of the feet before going to bed. Massaging with slightly warm oil can be very helpful.
  • Drink 1 cup of warm milk added with almonds before going to bed.
  • Add 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg and little cardamom to 1 glass milk and drink it before going to bed.
  • Try to eat warm, moist and grounding food rather than oily or dry or raw food at dinner. It is good to avoid ice cold beverages.
  • Try to decide a routine for eating and sleeping.
  • Try to always motivate yourself to sleep rather than been nervous about not getting sleep.
  • Sip some chamomile tea before bed.
  • Try to do guided yoga by name Nidra which is very helpful.
  • Having a bath in lukewarm water before bed is very helpful.
  • Try to listen to drone instruments or to the sound of rustling leaves to fall asleep.
  • Try to rinse your eyes with rose water and add 1 drop of ghee into eyes. Keep it closed and try to sleep.
  • Before going to bed, try to comb your hair.
  • Drink 1 glass milk with 1 teaspoon honey every night before bed.
  • Take 1/2 litre water and add 1 teaspoon aniseed. Allow the water to heat for 15 min. Strain and drink this water when it’s hot before going to bed.
  • Take 1 glass water and mix 2 teaspoon honey. Drink this water before going to bed.
  • Try to sleep in a room that is quieter or it is better to wear ear plugs.
  • Avoid intake of alcohol. Alcohol can cause drowsiness and can make you sleep. It also has a side effect of waking you late in the night with stomachache, headache or to pass urine and you would not be able to get back to sleep later.
  • Try not to sleep during day time.
  • Try to do some exercise late in the evening to help you fall asleep and stay asleep.
  • Try to manage your day to day activities well to reduce the stress level.
  • Try to have 1 teaspoon licorice root powder with 1 glass milk empty stomach every morning.

Natural Home Remedies to Treat Pyorrhea

Brushing twice a day is still not helping you with bad breath? Do you often see blood while brushing? Is your gums dark red in color? Or do you have pus in your gums?

Worried? You better be as you might be having Pyorrhea. It is a painless gum disease that is usually not noticed by everyone.

Pyorrhea is also known as periodontitis which is caused due to many inflammatory diseases affecting the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth. Pyorrhea can lead to gradual loss of alveolar bone around the teeth. If it is not treated at right time, Pyorrhea can lead to loosening and falling of teeth.

Pyorrhea is caused by the attack of microorganisms on the gums and teeth. These microorganisms survive and multiply from the food that is left on the teeth. It is generally a slow process where the microorganisms are formed on the space between teeth and gums. It creates acid, enzymes and toxins that lead to tooth decay.

Pyorrhea is generally caused due to improper brushing or brushing aggressively, not maintaining a good oral hygiene, poor nutrition, lack of resistance of gums, diabetes, high sugar and carbohydrates content in diet, smoking, and too much alcohol consumption.

Some people can have signs of painful, bleeding and swollen gums due to Pyorrhea. There are also chances of gums getting filled with pus and you can notice tooth decay. The last stage in Pyorrhea leads to loosening and falling out of teeth.

Some simple and effective home remedies for treating Pyorrhea;

  • After brushing your teeth, dip a cotton ball in mix of mustard oil and little salt. Rub this over the gums.
  • Drink fresh lemon juice daily to stop bleeding gums.
  • If you have pain in gums, gargling with sesame oil after brushing your teeth in night is very effective.
  • Try to chew guava leaves or unripe guava for bleeding gums. Guava has high content of Vitamin C which helps to keep teeth healthy.
  • Prepare a juice of raw spinach with equal portion of carrot juice and have it.
  • Onion has good amount of anti bacterial property. Chew 1 raw onion to kill the germs and instant relief from bleeding gums.
  • Orange has high Vitamin C content and hence is very helpful for tooth problems. Try to rub the skin of orange on teeth and gums.
  • Chew leaves of lettuce vegetable before every meal for preventing and curing Pyorrhea.
  • Pepper powder with salt acts as a very good dentifrice. Take it for effective relief from bleeding gums, sensitive teeth, etc.
  • Soak some wheat in water for 10 min. Chewing this wheat is a good exercise for teeth and gums. Exercise of teeth and gums helps in blood circulation. Proper blood circulation among teeth and gums can remove the chances of pus formation and bleeding gums.
  • Take powder of pomegranate rind mixed with salt and pepper which forms a good dentifrice for bacterial infection.
  • Apply marjoram oil twice a day on gums for relief from pus in gums.
  • Mix dried and powdered holy basil leaves with mustard oil. Rub this on tooth and gums for relief.
  • Make a paste of babul wood charcoal, rock salt and roasted alum in ratio 5:1:1 for instant relief.
  • Chewing fresh bark of babul helps in stopping bleeding gums.
  • Drinking 1 glass of water with 1 tablespoon honey every morning is very good for teeth and gums.
  • After meals try chewing cloves. Clove acts as mouth freshener as well as it is good for strong teeth and gums.
  • Avoid eating too hot or too cold items together, like drinking a hot coffee or tea just after eating ice cream.
  • Take some parwal leaves, ginger, black pepper, peepal root and rock salt into 1 bowl water. Boil it for some time to form decoction. Strain it with a cloth and use this water for gargling to get relief.
  • Eat 1 bowl chopped cabbage and 1 banana every day for relief from gum diseases.
  • Take 1 raw papaya and eat it for relief from bleeding gums.
  • Take 4 -5 cinnamon barks in a vessel of water for 1 hour. Allow it to cool down and strain the water. Gargle your mouth with this water.
  • Make a paste with 1 spoonful of pure ghee and some camphor. Mix this well and apply it on gums 2 times a day.

For natural teeth cleaning, try to munch apple or guava or radish or cucumber after your meals. Toothpicks are harmful for gums hence try using silk thread to clean between teeth. Try to have a good oral hygiene, brush properly twice daily, scaling and flossing are some simple and effective ways along with natural home remedies that can prevent Pyorrhea.

The pain in head makes us forget everything else. All that you can think of will be on how to get rid of this pain. No matter mild or severe, Headache is always a concern.

Headache or cephalalgia is the pain you can feel in and around head or neck. A Headache that we get is not the pain in brain. Brain tissues are not pain sensitive. Headache is the pain caused due to problem with pain responsive tissues or structures around brain.

Headache can be on one side or both sides of the head. It can also be at one particular region and then slowly start moving to another. You can experience mild or sharp or excruciating pain. Headaches can come suddenly or gradually and it can be there for very little time to several days.

Headache is a pain without any particular pattern. It can happen more often or even every day to some people. Headache can be due to increase in blood pressure, sleeplessness, sinusitis, hunger, stress, physical strain, anemia, strain in eye, etc. In general when a person has Headache there is only pain in head, while in others it can also cause eyes to water or bleeding from nose or dizziness depending on body energy which is irritated.

People with Headache don’t try to find out the exact reason or cause for it, instead try to rush to a chemist and takes some painkillers to have temporary freedom from pain. Ayurveda on other hand believes in finding the exact reason for Headache and tries to provide a permanent solution for it. The natural ingredients that are used for treatment in ayurveda includes essential oils like sandalwood, jasmine, coconut, eucalyptus, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, etc. These oils are very effective in relieving Headache.

There are some simple and natural home remedies that you can try at home to get relief from Headache. They are;

  • In 1 cup warm water, dip 1 green tea bag to prepare decoction. To this add the juice of 1/2 lemon. Mix them well and drink it to get instant relief.
  • Take the rind of 2-3 lemons. Chop and pound them to make a paste. Apply this paste on forehead to get instant relief.
  • Make a paste of 2 tablespoon cinnamon powder with little water. Apply this paste on temple and forehead for relief.
  • Drinking 1 glass watermelon juice with 1 teaspoon sugar can provide relief from Headache due to heat.
  • Take 1 glass water and mix 1 teaspoon honey. Have this every morning empty stomach to treat unrelieved Headaches.
  • Drink plenty of water to get relief from Headache due to dehydration. Drink one big glass of water when pain starts and keep sipping water very often throughout day. There will be gradual decrease in pain.
  • Try to sleep to rest your body if Headache is due to Sleeplessness. Sleep in a quiet, dark room so you can get a sound sleep.
  • Massaging scalp, neck and ear lobes can help relieve the pain.
  • Try to do some relaxation techniques that can help relieve pain. Meditation, deep breathing, prayer, listening to pleasant music, etc. can help you feel relaxed. If it helps you to sleep it is more beneficial.
  • Applying a paste of ground clay or sandalwood powder mixed with rose water can help in relieving burning sensation.
  • Take 1/4 teaspoon of clove powder and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Mix this well and apply this paste for 20-30 min.
  • Try to avoid too much exposure of head in hot or cold climate. Use an umbrella or cover your head with hat.
  • Try to avoid sitting for work for long duration. Instead take short breaks.
  • Try to avoid eating yogurt at night.
  • Try to eat easily digestible food in dinner. Do not eat too much or try not eating very little or skipping your meals.
  • Take some dry caraway seeds and roast them. Take a soft cloth or muslin and wrap up this powder to sniff.
  • Take 2 teaspoons powdered cinnamon and 1 1/2 cup of milk. Mix them well and keep it for boiling for 1 or 2 min. Add 1 teaspoon honey to it and drink twice a day.
  • Try eating chopped apple with little salt sprinkled on it every morning for 1 week.
  • Massage your head with rosemary oil or mint oil for relief.
  • Ginger is known for its anti inflammatory properties and hence preparing a tea with it can provide relief from Headache. Take some tea leaves and add a small piece of fresh ginger to 1 glass water. Allow this to boil to become decoction. Strain it and drink it.
  • Lavender oil can give instant relief. Take lavender oil and apply it on forehead. You can also add 2-4 drops of lavender oil to 3 cups boiling water. Inhale the vapors for good relief.
  • You can smell basil leaves as basil leaves have a strong smell that is helpful in relaxing muscles.
  • Add 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar to 1/2 cup water. Allow it to boil and then inhale the steam.
  • Prepare soup and add some pepper to it. Drink it hot to clear nasal blockage and thus relieving Headache due to it.
  • Try to keep hot or cold compress on head and neck for instant relief.
  • Try to go for daily walk or simple exercises during pregnancy to prevent Headaches.

Drink lot of water, fresh juices and other beverages that do not contain caffeine. Eat a healthy non fatty meal. Along with your diet try to manage your stress and do some simple basic exercises to keep your body fit and fine. These simple home remedies can also help you from Headache. Migraine and its Treatment through Natural Home Remedies

Do you feel that there are 100 people standing on your head or have a feeling of been hit with a hammer on your head or you just don’t know why you have headache that is not letting you do anything? Do you think it is a normal headache?

Don’t be surprised if I said you might be having Migraine.

Migraine is known as the most common and painful headache. It is an unending neurological disorder that causes frequent mild to severe headaches. Migraines are very common in women when compared to men.

Migraine is generally towards one half of the head. You can also have some common symptoms like sensitivity to light or sound, vomiting or nausea, cold hands and feet. A good amount of rest during Migraine can be helpful as any physical activity can only worsen it. People who face sensitivity to light and sound can lie down in dark closed room that is isolated from light and sound.

Migraine can come to people within age group of 5-35 years. It can be treated but has no cure. Migraine is generally not a dangerous disease which can lead to death but severe Migraines can cause stroke.

There are two types of Migraine;

  • Migraine with aura – The neurological symptom with visual disorder is termed as aura. It causes flickering or zigzag line usually at the side of the visual area. The other symptoms include tingling of lips, fingers of one hand, lower face and numbness of lips. Some people can also experience temporary paralysis on one side of the body. Aura cannot last longer than 1 hour and after this follows the headache most of the time.
  • Migraine without aura – This is the most common type of Migraine that majority of people face. The common symptoms include fatigue, mood swings, fuzziness in head, fluid retention. Some people also have nausea, vomiting, frequent urination and diarrhea. This type of Migraine can last longer i.e for 3-4 days depending on the treatment.

There are different reasons why a person gets Migraine. Drugs, consumption of alcohol, allergic reactions, smoking, lack of rest or sleep, excessive work or stress, drop in blood sugar level, hunger, menopause or environmental factors are some very common reasons that lead to Migraine.

There are some simple and very effective home remedies for Migraine;

  • Take 1/2 glass each of carrot juice and spinach juice. Mix them well and drink it.
  • Pound few fresh cabbage leaves and apply it on forehead with a cloth for relief.
  • Peel 5 lemon and grind it well by adding little water. Apply this paste on forehead.
  • Add some chamomile powder to 1 glass boiling water. Drink this mix when it is hot to get instant relief.
  • Drink lots of water as dehydration can cause Migraine.
  • In small amounts drink coffee. Caffeine can help in relieving Migraine. However, too much intake can also trigger Migraine.
  • Massage your head by applying gentle pressure on scalp or temples.
  • Try to sleep more or rest well. Always maintain proper sleep timings.
  • Try to eat your meals at proper timings. Skipping a meal or eating late can trigger Migraine.
  • Crushed Podina leaves if applied on forehead and temple can provide relief from Migraine.
  • The smell of menthol in podina or mint leaves helps in the relief from nausea due to Migraine.
  • Try to eat spicy food as the hot content in red pepper, capsaicin is a good pain killer and helps in relieving Migraine.
  • Prepare chicken broth and have it if you have vomiting due to Migraine. Chicken broth helps you by providing strength.
  • Prepare mint tea by taking some fresh mint leaves and adding it to 1 glass boiling water. Allow steeping for 5 min, and drink this tea. Inhale the steam while you drink.
  • Manage your day to day activities well to reduce the stress level. Stress and migraine are related. Though you cannot pull out stress from your life, you can at least try to manage it well.
  • Apply a paste of ground clay or sandalwood powder for relief from burning sensation on head.
  • Make a paste of 1/4 teaspoon clove powder with 1 teaspoon cinnamom oil. Mix them well and apply it on forehead for 20-30 min for relief.
  • There are some ayurvedic therapies like Nasya [herbal oils for nostrils] and Shriodhara [head massage] for Migraine. It is highly recommended for people to get relief from Migraine.
  • Head massage with bhringraj oil can provide a soothing effect in Migraine. This oil helps to calm the nervous system of the body.
  • Mix 1 glass watermelon juice with 1 teaspoon sugar and drink it. This helps to cool down your body thus relieving headache due to heat.
  • Ginger has high anti inflammatory property and is very helpful in Migraine. Eating raw ginger or ginger juice or dried ginger can be very effective.

Life with Migraine itself is a big challenge. Adapting to a healthy lifestyle can help you in overcoming Migraine. Always have a positive approach and believe that you can overcome pain. Simple Home Remedies to Stop Loose Motion

We notice some people very frequently rushing to toilet and this process keeps repeating a lot of times. It is a funny situation when it is not happening to you. The person who is going to bathroom so many times would be frustrated and tired. Why is it happening to him/her? It is because the person has Loose motion.

Loose Motion or also known as diarrhea is frequent passage of loose stools or watery unformed stools. Loose Motion can drain all your energy as each time you pass loose stools; you are losing water and minerals from your body.

Loose Motion is not a serious condition in adults. However, for infants it can cause serious health issues due to loss of important nutrients from body. In adults, Loose motion can cause weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, pain in stomach, dry mouth, etc. If you don’t take good quantity of water during Loose motion, you can end up dehydrated.

There are various factors that can trigger Loose motion. Food that is not digested, food poisoning or infection from bacteria, food allergies, some medicines, too much eating, less nutrition, stress, too much intake of alcohol, etc. are all causes for Loose motion. Loose Motion can usually stay for 2-3 days. It actually flushes out the entire toxin from body and stops by itself if not treated sometimes. It also depends on every individual’s capacity to keep passing loose stools. Some people become weak just by 2-5 times visit to bathroom. If not treated properly, Loose Motion can become life threatening.

Loose Motion can also be due to irritable bowel movement or chronic disease of large intestine which requires proper medical treatment. The not so serious Loose motion can be treated through simple and natural readily available contents at home.

Simple home remedies for stopping Loose motion;

  • Mustard seeds have high anti bacterial property hence it is very helpful if Loose Motion is due to bacterial infection.
  • Take 1/4 teaspoon of mustard seeds and add it to 1 tablespoon water. Soak it for 1 hour and then drink that water 2 or 3 times a day.
  • Lemon has high anti inflammatory properties which makes it very good for stopping loose motion.
  • Prepare a juice of 1 lemon with little salt and sugar to taste. Drink this juice every hour.
  • Pomegranate is known for its benefits in stopping Loose motion.
  • You can either eat 2 pomegranates a day or prepare juice of it and have 1 glass 3 times a day for good result.
  • Add pomegranate leaves to water and bring this water to boil with the leaves in it. Drinking this water also helps in stopping Loose motion.
  • Fenugreek seeds or methi have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
  • Blend 1 or 2 teaspoons of dried fenugreek seeds into fine powder. Mix this in 1 glass water and have it every morning empty stomach.
  • Take buttermilk with little salt or jeera powder or black pepper powder 2 or 3 times a day for relief from Loose motion.
  • Mint leaves or podina have anti-bacterial property and are very good for digestion.
  • Extract the juice of few fresh mint leaves to get 1 teaspoon of it. To this add 1 teaspoon each of honey and lime juice. Mix this well and have it 2 or 3 times a day.
  • Bottle gourd juice helps in maintaining water content in body and prevents from getting dehydrated during Loose motion.
  • Peel 1 fresh bottle gourd and blend it well to extract its juice. Have this juice 2 times a day.
  • Ginger has high anti bacterial and anti fungal properties. Also, it is very good for digestion and stomach pain.
  • Take 1/2 teaspoon dried ginger powder or you can also take a small piece of fresh ginger. Pound it and add it to buttermilk. Take this buttermilk 3-4 times a day. You can see considerable changes in 2 days.
  • Grate 1 raw papaya and add it to 3 cups of water. Boil it for 10 minutes and strain the water. Drink it warm 2 -3 times a day.
  • Prepare herbal tea and drink it 3 times a day. Take 1 teaspoon each of chamomile flower and fresh peppermint leaves in 1 glass water. Boil water and allow steeping for 15 minutes. Strain the water and drink it.
  • Try to avoid intake of milk products like cheese, milk, milk powder, coffee prepared with milk, etc.
  • Try to take bananas with little curd.
  • Try to drink lot of tender coconut.
  • Take 2 teaspoon lemon juice. To this add 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste and a little black pepper. Mix well and eat this 2 times a day.
  • Take 2 teaspoon each of cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. Roast them and grind it to fine powder. Take 4 teaspoon of this powder and mix it with 1 cup yogurt. Mix it well and eat it 3 times a day.
  • Take 1 onion and slice it length wise into thin pieces. Fry this onion on a pan with 2-3 teaspoon ghee till golden brown. Eat plain rice with this fried onion. This helps to reduce pain in abdomen and frequency of passing stools.
  • Take few ripped bananas mash it with little salt. Eat this 2-3 times a day.
  • Take 1 teaspoon date or khajoor paste with little honey. Have this 3 times a day for regulating bowels.
  • Take 5-10 grams amla seed powder mixed with buttermilk. Have this 2-3 times a day.
  • Strong black tea without sugar is also very effective in stopping Loose motion.

When you have Loose motion it is best to fast. Try not to eat rather drink as much fluids as possible. In case you are feeling hungry and want to eat, try with foods that are easy to digest. Food like curd rice, bananas, apples, pomegranate, etc. can be taken in small quantity. Try not to eat too much at a time instead try to eat less but more frequently if required.   • Try to avoid spicy foods instead eat foods like curd rice, khichdi, oatmeal, etc. that are easy to digest.
  • Take 1 teaspoon fresh mint leaf or podina juice and 1 teaspoon lime juice. Mix them well with few drops of ginger juice and little black salt. Drink this for instant relief.
  • Extract the juice of small piece ginger and massaging it on the bottom of belly provides relief.
  • Take 2 teaspoon lemon juice and add 1/4 teaspoon rock salt powder in 1/2 glass water. Try to take this water 3 times a day.
  • Take some anardhana or pomegranate seeds and add some black salt and kali mirch or peppercorn powder to it. Take this for good relief.
  • Chewing some Fennel seeds or saunf is also effective in relieving Stomach ache.
  • Take equal quantity i.e. 8-10 grams of neem seeds, tulsi (holy basil) leaves and sonth or dried ginger. Add 10 kali mirch or peppercorn and blend it to smooth powder. Lick this unique herbal powder for relief from Stomach ache.
  • Mix coriander or dhania powder with little sugar candy. Take this for stopping Stomach ache.
  • Take 8-10 laung or lavang or clove powder and add it to water. Let the water boil on low flame. Take this water once it cools for good results.
  • Mix jaiphal or nutmeg oil with some sugar for relief from Stomach ache due to acidity.
  • Take 2 grams each of oregano seeds, cumin seeds and rock salt and blend it to fine powder. Extract half lemon’s juice and mix the powder to it. Take this powder with 1 glass lukewarm water.
  • Take 20 grams aniseed and soak it in 1 glass water for overnight. Next morning strain it and drink this water.
  • Take 3 grams each of carom seeds and rock salt. Mix it in 1 glass warm water and have it.
  • Take 1 teaspoon each of ginger juice and castor oil. Mix it in 1 cup warm water and have this 2 times a day.
  • Prepare mint tea by taking a handful of fresh mint leaves or podina and 1 cup water. Boil water and add the mint leaves to it. Cover and steep it for5-10 min. Try to sip this tea for instant relief and if possible you can also chew the leaves.
  • Prepare a mix with 1/4 juice extract of potatoes with 3/4 cup water. Try to have this mix every morning empty stomach. If required you can also add 1-2 teaspoon lemon juice and honey for better taste.

Try to eat 2 ripe bananas, lots of green leafy & vegetables and some curd as your every day routine. Drinking lots of water also helps for proper bowel movement. Along with proper food and water, it is also important to be physically active for proper digestion.   • Alcohol intake can cause relaxation of throat muscles which can lead to Snoring. Stop the consumption of alcohol to stop Snoring.
  • Avoid sleeping straight on your back and try to sleep sidewise.
  • Olive oil is very effective. Take 2-3 sips of olive oil before going to bed every night. This will help you to stop Snoring in few days.
  • Regular sleeping pattern helps to reduce Snoring. Sleep at fixed time and wake up at the same time every day.
  • Avoid spicy, oily and heavy food in dinner.
  • Once a time every morning and night, try to put 2 drops of lukewarm Brahmi oil or clarified butter into each nostril. This is very effective for Snoring.
  • Take 1 glass warm water and add 1/2 teaspoon crushed cardamom powder to it. Mix well and have it every night.
  • Take 1 glass warm milk and add 2 teaspoon turmeric. Mix well and have it every night.
  • Always sleep with head elevated as it reduces the chances of tongue falling back.
  • Extract juice of ginger. Add 1 spoon honey and have it.
  • Do yoga as there are many exercises and postures for treating Snoring.
  • Try to do some tongue exercise like bringing the tip of your tongue to behind top front teeth and sliding it back. Try to do this at least 2-3 min a day.
  • Try to spell vowels [a e i o u ] loudly. Try to do this 2-3 min a day.
  • Try to twist your tongue and hold it for 30 sec with mouth closed.
  • Try to practice singing for few min a day. It is a good exercise for throat and is very effective for Snoring.
  • Reduce intake of caffeine.
  • Homemade saline sprays are very useful to relieve nasal blockage. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt to 1/2 cup distilled water and mix it well till salt is dissolved. Pour this into an empty nasal spray bottle or bottle with a dropper in it. Pour 2-3 drops into each nostril every night. Use this within 5 days and prepare fresh if required.
  • Rub the lower part of your nose with few drops of peppermint oil.
  • Pour few drops of peppermint oil to hot water and inhale the steam. This reduces the swelling in nostrils.
  • Put handful of sage leaves into a vessel with hot water. Inhale the steam.
  • Put 1 bunch of sage leaves in 1-2 glasses water. Allow steeping for 5-10 min and then strain it. Gargle with cooled water every night.

[Note: Sage is not good for people who suffer from seizure disorders]

  • Prepare tea with 1 teaspoon dried nettle leaf in 1 cup boiling water. Allow steeping for 5 mins and strain it. It is effective to have 3 cups of this tea every day.
  • Try to inhale steam using eucalyptus oil. Add 2-4 drops eucalyptus oil into a vessel with hot water and inhale the steam.
  • Prepare Mint tea by taking 8-10 mint leaves or podina. Add it to 1 cup water and allow steeping for 5-10 min. Strain it and have it with honey if required. Inhale the smell of podina and drink it. The menthol content in podina helps to clear mucous from lungs.

Home Remedies for treating Nasal Congestion

At home or in a restaurant when a yummy delicious food is served, do you feel that you are not able smell the food or do you have difficulty in eating food with mouth closed? Do you have any trouble while sleeping? Are you able to breathe properly through your nose? If your answer is NO, you need to know what is causing all this.

Blocked nose is called Nasal congestion. The symptoms mentioned above refer to Nasal Congestion. There are many reasons why a person gets Nasal congestion. The irritation or inflammation of blood vessels in the nasal cavity, bulge, too much of mucus formation, sinus, cold or infections like influenza can cause Nasal congestion.

Nasal congestion can be mild or it can also lead to frightening condition of health. The newborn babies generally breathe through their nose. Nasal congestion in a baby can make them stop on breastfeeding and can also lead to severe respiratory problems. The Nasal congestion in bigger kids and adults is often infuriation that can lead to other problems.

Nasal congestion causes not only stuffed nose, you can also have problem in hearing and speech progress. If the congestion is too much, you can have problems while sleeping. It causes snoring and sleeping disorders like sleep apnea in many people. Nasal congestion can also cause slight pain in head or face and an uneasy feeling.

There are many natural remedies to clear Nasal congestion.

  • Neti pots have proved to be very effective in clearing Nasal congestion. Pour as much filtered water into neti pot till its full. Warm the water so that it is just little hot than room temperature. Add a pinch of neti salt into the warm water and allow the salt to dissolve completely. Pour this water to neti pot and place your head sidewise on a sink. Now place the neti pot on one of your nostrils. The idea is to flush out all mucus from one nostril to the other and then flow it out. If you are using it first time, you will have difficulty in doing this and during the process water can go to your throat. Spit out the water that comes to your throat. Once half the water in neti pot is used, start the same with other nostril till all mucus is cleared out. You can repeat this process every day till you get better relief.
  • Homemade saline sprays help in making mucus thin. Prepare a nasal spray by mixing 2-3 teaspoons of non iodized salt in 1 pint sterilized water. With a bulb syringe try to slowly squirt keeping your head towards back. Blow your nose slowly .This also helps to wash out any allergy causing contents like pollen or bacteria from nasal cavity.
  • Humidifiers or steamers are very effective to clear Nasal congestion. Try to breathe in steam from the humidifier or from a vessel with hot water.
  • Drinking hot soups also helps to clear congestion.
  • Peppermint tea is very effective as it helps to make mucous think and clear nasal cavity. Peppermint has content called menthol which helps in the relief from congestion.
  • Pound 3 tomatoes and boil them in 1 glass water for at least 10-15 mins. Add 1 teaspoon butter, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic paste. Mix this well and take it thrice a day.
  • Inhaling the fumes of black pepper powder is also very effective.
  • Pound 2 tablespoon carom seeds and wrap it in a cloth. Inhale it by keeping it close to your nose, thrice a day.
  • Blow your nose and try to push out mucous from your nasal cavity.
  • Try to eat more spicy food as the spice helps to make the mucous thin.
  • Dip a towel in hot water and try to cover your face with this warm towel. This will help in opening blocked nose and you will start feeling better.
  • As mentioned earlier, you can inhale steam or go for a hot shower. The steam formed due to hot shower itself will provide you good relief.
  • Essential oils like eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, etc. are very effective in clearing the blockage of nasal cavity. Pour 10 drops of any of these oils in warm water in a bath tub. Soak yourself into this water till you feel your nose is clear and you are able to breathe easily.

Stay warm by wearing sweaters or scarf’s or socks when you have a cold or Nasal congestion. Try to prepare any soups and keep yourself hydrated. Follow any of the simple home remedies mentioned above and you will get good relief from congestion. If the remedies don’t provide you relief then the congestion might be severe and it will require proper examination from a doctor.
